RIVER FILM FEST 2009 is organised by Heart of Europe Media Ltd which has been active in the field of arts since 1994. Among other activities, Heart of Europe Media co-produced Jan Svankmajers feature film FAUST as well as several animated films by Pavel Koutsk and Ji Brta. In 2000 Heart of Europe Media organised Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festival as part of Prague 2000, European City of Culture. The festival was judged the 3rd most successful event of all 470 projects organised by Prague 2000. Heart of Europe Media developed Crystalline Universe Praha for Swarovski, combining the uniqueness of crystals with Czech history and famous individuals who lived and worked in Bohemia. In 2008 Heart of Europe Media collaborated with Peter Gabriel and Art for Amnesty in Dublin on their world-wide project SMALL PLACES TOUR 2008. CEO is Michael Havas, former long-term dramaturge at the Summer Film School and co-organiser of various other activities by the Association of Czech Cinema Clubs (British Film Week etc.)
